Festivals, specifically raves, are a wonderful way to celebrate electronic dance music, culture, and community. It is important to be prepared to ensure you have a memorable and enjoyable time. In this blog, I will share some valuable festival tips to help you make the most of your festival experience.

Festival Tips:

1. Plan Ahead:

One of the most crucial festival tips is to plan ahead. Start by researching the festival’s location and lineup. When the time table is released, create a rough itinerary so that you don’t miss any of your favorite artists.

2. Dress Comfortably:

Depending on the weather and the type of festival, this could mean wearing sunscreen and a hat, wearing layers, or wearing comfortable shoes. Always bring a rain jacket and emergency blankets in case of bad weather. If you’re a platform girly, make sure to take breaks from standing by either squatting or sitting down!

3. Stay Hydrated:

Festivals can be hot and exhausting, so staying hydrated is crucial. If the festival allows you to bring a hydropack, please please do so! You don’t want to end up in the med tent from dehydration.

4. Know the Festival Rules:

Every festival has a different set of rules and regulations. Familiarize yourself with these guidelines, including any restrictions on items you can bring. Trust me, you do not want to have to walk back to the car because you cannot bring in a certain item.

5. Pace Yourself:

Festivals often last for hours on end, so it is very important to pace yourself. Take breaks, eat snacks, and rest. Overexertion can ruin your festival experience if you’re not careful.

6. Be PLUR and Have Fun:

Festivals are a great opportunity to meet new people and to make new friends who have similar interests. Talk to strangers, dance with your peers, and keep the spirit of PLUR (peace, love, unity, and respect) alive! Bring friendship bracelets to trade, and if you see someone fall down in a mosh pit, help them back on their feet!
